It's hard to list everything I do, because I enjoy learning and figuring out problems as they arise. It's not uncommon for me to say "I've never done that before, but I'll do some research and get back to you."

The following is a general list of work I've done in the past, but if you need help with something that isn't on this list, please call or text me to let me know. I accept work anywhere in the greater Des Moines, IA area. If your project is outside of this area, I may still accept the work, but I will charge a travel fee.

    • If you would like to fix things yourself, but aren't exactly sure how, I can teach you the basics of a variety of home repairs. I'll guide you through the technique, materials, and necessary tools for your project.

I charge $40 per hour for any work that I do, with a minimum of one hour per invoice. If you do not provide your own materials, my material costs will be billed on the invoice. I do not add any fees when I pick up materials other than the time it takes me to travel to the most convenient store and purchase materials. What I pay for materials, is the amount that will be on your invoice. I may ask you to cover material costs in some situations. In these circumstances I can provide a detailed list of needed materials, or sometimes can have a store pick the items for you to be pick up at your convenience.

Since I'm a one man operation, there may be some projects that I will need help. I might ask you for assistance, or I may have someone I know help me. In that circumstance I will likely charge more than $40 per hour to cover my helper's pay.

*State and federal law dictate the scope of what I can do as a handyman in the fields of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and demolition without acquiring specific licensing in each trade. If a project is outside of my scope, I will recommend that you contact a professional with the appropriate licensing for your project. (It never hurts to ask me if it's in my scope first, just in case I can save you some money before you call a licensed tradesman)**Some drywall cracks are formed due to a structure settling over time. While these cracks can be hidden, there is always a chance of them reforming as the structure continues to settle.
